Richmond Flag Day |

December 24 is traditionally a very special day where Christmas is celebrated by people from all over the world. For Richmond Fellowship, it is an even more special day this year as they are holding a Flag Day on December 24, from 7:00am to 12:30pm on Hong Kong Island with the approval granted from the Social Welfare Department. We hope that the fund raised from the Flag Day can help promote Richmond Fellowship’s self-financed services, thus benefiting the society as a whole. |

With the arrangement from the Richmond Fellowship, RSC's volunteers started selling flags in Wan Chai early in the morning. In order to ensure a smooth selling and to maximize the donations, we pre-arranged and planned the best spots for the activity. After debriefing at Wan Chai MTR station, RSC volunteers moved on quickly to their pre-designated locations and began selling flags. The cold weather did not affect our volunteers' warm hearts. This was the first Flag Day for most of our volunteers and hence was a most memorable experience. With this Flag Day Fundraising, Richmond Fellowship can raise the funds much needed for providing patient services – the crux of their cause. |

After a morning of hard work, the volunteers returned the flag bags and Richmond Fellowship arranged a lunch gathering to thank all the volunteer participants and members. During the gathering, volunteers and Richmond Fellowship members did not compete against the selling results but shared their exciting experiences and insights on the morning’s task. To conclude Richmond Fellowship members handed out their Christmas presents to the volunteers - all handmade souvenirs. The gifts, though not extravagant, were very sweet and most touching indeed. |
